Bob's 98th Birthday

Here in Australia, its the 5th of August, so i thought id wish Bob Taylor Happy Birthday, even though he's not around any more, he's still around many of his loyal fans......

40 years

Its been over 40 years since Bob's passing,this month. Im wondering what the other members here did to remember Bob on this day in June. I visited his findagrave entry, and would one day like to visit the actual place where he is interred. Im wondering what future generations will do to remember the great Bob Taylor........

At any rate, thank you (and everyone) for the very nice comments you have sent me. Gee, I rather thought I came over as sounding like something of a "wise guy", myself, but really, thanks.

My family, being in the industry, would attend all these parties and functions when I was a little boy and then tell me about all these incredible people that they had met the following day. My mother, being a genuine, acknowledged "beauty" who rather resembled Liz Taylor, seemed to have no trouble at all when it came to meeting these people! She said that Taylor had approached her at Arnold and Wally Laven's party, because his wife, Ursula, wondered where she had her hair done! Imagine that! And, that they chatted awhile. At that age, I certainly knew who he was, but it didn't really mean that much to me at the time. "What was he like?" I asked Mom. "Very charming, but shorter than I expected" she responded. "But what a beautiful face!" Well, going by that description it MUST have been Robert Taylor!!

Thanks again, Bryan, and all the members of this group for being so nice.

P.S.:I really liked your Gallery, Bryan! There is no scene remotely like the one you have here in the copy I have of "Personal Property" (a favorite of mine). It must have either been cut from the final release print, or possibly was only included in the European version (The studios would do things like that in those days!)
