Is there any way to contact his children to tell them how much he is still admired after all these years..

I too will wait until you fix up the problem. He gave such a lot of pleasure to so many, it's a pleasure to join a group such as this which will hopefully ensure he receives due recognition.

Robert Taylor deserves a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy. Sign in if you agree. Chat about it. Let's see what we can do if we organize.

About Me
I am a biographer, journalist, & novelist. My latest book is the biography of Robert Taylor, "Reluctant Witness: Robert Taylor, Hollywood, & Communism." Since you're here, you undoubtedly don't need to be told who Robert Taylor was & what he meant to movie history.

Robert Taylor starred in "Camille" with Greta Garbo, "Waterloo Bridge" with Vivien Leigh, and "Quo Vadis" with Deborah Kerr -- among many others. His involvement in the 1940s hysteria over communism in Hollywood forever branded him the ultra-conservative movie star to “name names.” My book finally sets the record straight and shows how his life was forever grounded in his strong Nebraska roots.

I've published 4 other books—2 biographies ("The Unpromised Land" & "Dorothy From Kansas Meets the Wizard of X" and 2 novels of dark romantic suspense ("Until Next Time" & "Weekends In New England"). A 1991 letter on psychological child abuse put me on the Oprah Show as a Featured Guest. I've freelanced for magazines such as "Spotlight" and "Soap Opera Update," and newspapers including "The Washington Times" and "Baton Rouge Advocate." She has interviewed actors Jim Varney, Robert Stack, Michael Zaslow, and her teenage heartthrob, Michael Cole, from 1970s “The Mod Squad;” also, singers Gary Puckett, Tiny Tim, and others.

I speak publicly on: Living Large With Lupus; Journaling To Heal Wounds; Bridging The Color Line; You Are Who You Say You Are: Online Imaging; writing, and, of course, Robert Taylor! Visit Linda’s sites: http://www.lindajalexander.net and http://www.authorsden.com/lindajalexander.

The New "Gifts" Feature

Hello, All:

I've been asked about the new "Gifts" feature showing up on our site. I know very little about it -- seems it's a new function of Ning, the network on which this site is hosted. As best I can understand, network operators (aka me) can create "gifts", ie, graphics, & members can then use "points" to "buy" these gifts. Keep in mind--this is all virtual. Your gifts appear to be nothing more than graphics you can then put on your page. I see it as probably a way to monetize the appl… Continue

Los Angeles & Robert Taylor's Gravesite

Hello All:

Thought I'd drop in & update you on what I did in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. As I mentioned, I spoke to a group called the Hollywood Congress of Republicans. It was a sympathetic audience to the life Robert Taylor led, his conservative beliefs, & his concern for his America. There was much interest in our favorite movie star. That itself was a great part of my overall trip.

However, a sidebar to my trip was funny, delightful, & an absolute thrill. I visited Bob's gr

My Radio Interview about Robert Taylor & Book

Hello, all! A few days ago, I did a radio interview with a LA Talk Radio show called The London Garcia Show. London's a fantastic host & along with her co-host, Marti, we had a lively discussion about Robert Taylor & Hollywood of yesteryear. The interview went very well ... if you have about 50 minutes, please do give it a listen.

NOTE: The 1st few minutes are taken up by a theme song & banter between the hosts, mostly talking about Bob & his career. Don't let all the music thro… Continue

Invite All Your Friends!

Hello to all our Robert Taylor fans. Hope you're having a grand new week & that all is well in your worlds.

I'd like to suggest that we all do a Robert Taylor blitz. Make contact w/your online friends, & friends & family everywhere, & ask them to join our forum here. Especially the folks you know who are classic movie & TV fans. More members to our group will mean not only more commentary--a good thing--but also better rankings in the search engines & then, as the cycle… Continue

Song of Russia

How many of us have seen "Song of Russia?" Since Tim, of our group here, asked about the Robert Taylor Building on the Lorimar lot & his name being removed because of political beliefs (listed in the "Always dignified" thread), it got me to thinking about this.

First, on a totally superficial level, there are a number of shots of Bob w/his hair pseudo-mussed. Looks great . . . curls which apparently, unleashed, were determined to hang loose over his forehead.

On a more serious not--Bob not… Continue

I was wondering if you happen to know where Bob was stationed during the war? Not that it is vitally important, I was just curious. ~Alana~

I can't provide any photos or any accounts of interaction between Bob and my immediate relatives. We knew of our relation to him, but that is all. I'm sorry. My family lived in the same general vicinity as our common ancestors did, namely York and Adams County, PA, whereas Bob grew up in Nebraska. I can however provide some lineage data (from secondary sources) from our first Bruch/Brugh ancestor to arrive in America, to our common ancestor, and then to Bob, if that is of interest.

Dear Linda: I am very glad by your reply.
I read the red book which you wrote in my clumsy English hard. As for me, the book about Bob read two books so far.
I read the thing which Ursula Thiess wrote as Jane ellen wayne, but thought that your book was the first! I thought that it was a very good sense not to insert a photograph other than a cover at all.
