This is a link that point-blank and states that those folks who were worried & publicly petitioning against Communism prior to WWII--Robert Taylor being one, as we here all know--were justified in their concerns. While this audio clip does not mention Taylor--heck, it doesn't even mention J. Parnell Thomas or Martin Dies or Ronald Reagan or any of the earlier players--it does give voice . . . on today, the 4th of July, of all days . . . to the reality that Bob Taylor & his compatriots were not simply conservative loonies but, rather, had valid reasons to believe Communism was trying to worm its way into US democracy:

I wrote directly to Alex Kingsbury, the gentleman interviewed in this piece. He's with U.S. News & World Report & a credible source. It gives me hope to hear this coming out in such a public fashion. I did ask in my note, however, that in the future he reference those folks involved in the early years. Joseph McCarthy was NOT the starting point.
